over coffee // week three

over coffee

This week has been jam-packed with school, and I totally almost forgot about our coffee date! Yikes! But I remembered, and I have just enough time before I head off to Good Friday service.

Hopefully next Friday will be less rushed, as I’ll have one course final finally behind me. Until then, it’s going to be study, study, study!

1 // Are you country or rock ‘n’ roll (or hip-hop, emo, folk, punk…)?

Jazz, most often.

2 // What do you want to remember about today? (now referring to yesterday)

The 73 minutes I spent on the phone with Danae. I just love that girl! It was about 3 o’clock in the afternoon and I simply could not focus on school any longer. So I put on my pink strapless sundress, went outside, and called her up to chat while I worked on my tan :)

3 // Write down a few lines from a song or poem that you identify with today.

Since today’s Good Friday, “How Deep the Father’s Love For Us” has been in my mind. I think all of the words are SO powerful, I can’t just pick a few lines!

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that left Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

  1. 1: I’m techno/pop/indie/acoustic. Or something. Hehe.
    2: How content I felt.
3: “I am so done listening to you, time for you to go, time for you to go. I refuse to give one more day to you, time for you to go, time for you to go. No more wasting my life on this world’s addictions…” -BarlowGirl
