christmas wrapping

Processed with VSCOcam with lv01 presetI thought I’d share how I chose to wrap my gifts this year. I’ve been hooked on plain brown wrapping paper for a couple of years running… it’s just so versatile and classic! I found myself unconsciously humming “My Favorite Things” while wrapping these today. You know, brown paper packages tied up with string

I painted Christmas trees on my dad’s gift and my brother’s gift- the extent of my painting abilities. I was pretty proud of them until my dad called them tents. I’m trying to forget about that, though. The paint is just the cheap 69 cent acrylic stuff from Michael’s.

On my grammy’s gift and my mom’s gift I went with Christmas song lyrics in sweeping script. I used a broad-tip opaque marker from the craft store.

For the gift tags I placed a strip of washi tape (from Target) across the bottom of pre-made tags. I tied the packages with baker’s twine and plain cotton twine.

Do you have a standard approach to present-wrapping each year? Do you go with a theme or certain colors, or is each gift unique? Let me know in a comment!

  1. “Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes…” :) For us, we usually use the generic wrapping paper, but depending on the type of gift we like to get creative with wrapping styles. :) But I love your way of wrapping!! They are really creative!
