creating stories with steller

steller_sampleI honestly can’t remember being this excited about an app since Instagram, and that’s been quite a while ago.

Steller was released in the app store two days ago, and the stunning publications created with it are already making waves. For good reason, too- it’s a beautifully designed, easy-to-use app with a fresh approach to social media.

You sign in with your Twitter account, and can follow and be followed. Using your own photos, videos, and text, you create multimedia stories to be shared with others via the app, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, email, or text.

For my first two stories, I went back in my photo library and grabbed some old photos from Morro Bay and the vicinity. These were all taken a handful of years ago when the extent of my photography knowledge was that when I clicked the shutter, my little point-and-shoot would permanently capture whatever I could see in front of me.

I had no concept of proper lighting or composition. Somehow though, the combination of Steller and the beauty of that place helped me document those old photos, and the memories attached to them, in a way I will treasure forever.

Looking ahead, I’m definitely excited to start shooting more video. It’s something I’ve shied away from in the past, but Steller has inspired me to take the plunge. Download the app, and start sharing your stories!

P.S. This entire post is simply my honest opinion. I’m not getting paid to promote Steller… I just wanted you to know about it :)
