Two Saturdays ago Meegan and I ventured out of town for the whole day and went to an art museum. I refer to actions such as this as “sanity management,” or those things you do in order to maintain or restore your mental faculties. It’s nice to have a friend who also occasionally feels the need to get out of this town and see something new and different.
Anyways, we were both visiting this particular museum for the first time, and we loved it.
Some of my favorite pieces were Franz Kline’s Requiem and Richard Diebenkorn’s Berkeley #57 (pictured above), but of course it was fun to see works from the super famous Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Warhol, and others as well.
I was especially impressed with the architecture- so much glass and concrete, wood and steel- and the landscape. We explored for a long time, and there was still more to see. If art isn’t your thing but architecture is, you could still spend a perfect afternoon here. We spent a good 6 hours total!
