The only plans we had were to visit Natural Bridges State Beach, cook our lunch on the beach, get coffee at Verve, and hit up some bookstores. We played the rest by ear and had the best day ever. We left around 9am on Wednesday and didn’t return until nearly 1am on Thursday. This is what it looks like when 5 good friends head for the beach… Continue reading
The final day in Berkeley arrived. I walked with Micah to her first class before revisiting some of my favorite campus spots and soaking up the moments. Then I walked home from Telegraph-ish up Durant instead of Bancroft.
My aunt came. We stuffed my suitcase and bicycle in the back of her Subaru again and headed for- where else?- pizza at Cheese Board, and then ice cream at Tara’s.
It was a happy/sad feeling once we got on 580 and started heading east. On one hand, I was going home, and in time for Thursday night college group at that. On the other hand though, I’m always sorry to leave the bay. I could stay forever. Continue reading
I took the 2015 calendar in about a million different design directions before settling on the final layout you see here (Meegan can attest to this fact, as I was often working on it at the coffee shop before our meetings). Continue reading
Wednesday threw me for a loop, as it was supposed to be the day my aunt would come over and pick me up. But around 8am or so, as I was finishing up a cup of coffee, she called and asked if it would be okay if she came on Thursday instead, since she had to take a friend to an appointment in the bay area anyways. Of course I said yes, that makes complete sense (sounding super practical, while inwardly rejoicing at the prospect of an extra day :)). Continue reading
Tuesday was a wonderful day from beginning to [late] end. I spent a good portion of the late morning in Elmwood, slow lunching and browsing some of my favorite little shops. In the afternoon, I walked around campus. Micah and I made dinner together in the evening, and when Taylor got out of her final class, the three of us headed into the city for a concert.
Here are some snaps and highlights… Continue reading
On to the photos… Continue reading
Sundays in the city are one of my most favorite things ever. You probably know this if you’ve read my blog for any length of time, and you certainly know this if we know each other in person. Sundays + SF… I love it. Add to that equation sunshine, a best friend, and a whole day to do whatever we want? PERFECTNESS. Continue reading
As much as the idea of real-time blogging appeals to me, we just don’t get along very well. That’s what Instagram is for… though even with that I’ve been known to employ the occasional #latergram. While I was in Berkeley recently, I would’ve liked to have composed a neat post of the day’s events each day before bed, but when faced with the option of blogging or baking random muffins because they sound good at 8:30pm, I chose baking. What can I say?
Anyways, it’s taken me a little bit to get all of my photos edited and then to decide the best way to organize these posts. I still don’t know, so I’m just jumping in! Here goes… Continue reading
