Two Saturdays ago Meegan and I ventured out of town for the whole day and went to an art museum. I refer to actions such as this as “sanity management,” or those things you do in order to maintain or restore your mental faculties. It’s nice to have a friend who also occasionally feels the need to get out of this town and see something new and different.
Anyways, we were both visiting this particular museum for the first time, and we loved it. Continue reading →
Oh, Berkeley. I’ve really come to love this place. Up until a few weeks ago, the extent of my encounters with the town amounted to a quick run by the original Peet’s Coffee on the drive home from the City. Continue reading →
There’s a fairly good chance that if you find yourself behind or in front of me in a long line, and if you appear at least moderately friendly, I’ll probably say something to you. Something like, “Hi” or “Lines at craft stores are always so long, right?”
I do this because I like to talk to people. Some people don’t like to talk to me, and that’s fine (singular, but fine). But if you’re cool with it, we could most likely have a great conversation that would make the line seem shorter for both of us. Continue reading →
I’m here to share some of my favorite snapshots from my birthday on the 1st! The day was spent in Kansas City. I went with my family and my friend, Ruth. In spite of the weather being unbelievably cold, we had a lovely time. Continue reading →
Allow me to introduce you to my BFFNMHFA (that’s our secret acronym… all I can tell you is that it means we’re super duper good friends and plan on staying that way forever). Her name is Caitie. We’ve known each other since forever ago (read: circa 2nd grade). When we’re together, we like to make music, record music, watch old movies, do crafty things, converse, drink Starbucks, etc. You get the picture… we have fun :) Continue reading →
First up in the “Favorite Places” series is Israel. I’ve been wanting to go back so badly, and I actually wouldn’t even be opposed to staying in an apartment for 6 months in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv! Crazy idea, right? I know, and it’s probably not going to happen, but I’m just sayin’. So here goes- the first episode this new series!
My iPhoto library is full of so many pictures documenting many travels over the past several years, starting when I received my first digital camera. Looking back over these photos is sometimes painful, but encouraging when I’m able to see how far my photography has come. (And it’s still not even close to what I wish it would be!)
More than 12,000 photos make their home in my photo library. Many crooked, poorly lit, badly composed amateur snapshots dwell there alongside some real gems. But the memories associated with all of these pictures are so dear to me. I can remember exactly where I was standing and what was taking place around me as I captured many of them. Whenever I get an itch to go to one of my favorite places again, I browse through them and let all those memories flood my mind.
There are several places I’d like to be currently, so I thought it might be fun to do a little traveling feature. I’ll get to share some of my favorite pictures from some of my favorite places on earth, and hopefully you’ll enjoy seeing them. Stay tuned for Location #1!
